Probate and Estate Administration

At Brown Pruitt Peterson & Wambsganss, P.C., our attorneys have extensive experience in the highly specialized practice area of probate, estate administration, and probate and trust litigation. Several of our attorneys are routinely appointed by both Tarrant County probate courts to serve as temporary and permanent administrators of estates. Therefore, we are intimately familiar with the complex rules and requirements involved in the administration of a decedent’s estates. We handle all aspects of probate and estate administration, including meeting the statutory requirements for notices, inventories, annual accounts and reports, dealing with creditor claims, property appraisals, selling and distributing estate assets, and the preparation and filing all required income and estate tax returns. The breadth of our experience enables us to capably handle complex cases, including dependent probate administrations and estates with significant creditor issues.

We understand this is a difficult time for our clients and their families and we work very hard to help them through probate and estate administration as quickly and efficiently as possible. We counsel our clients on the most efficient course available to fit their situation, and guide them through the implementation, administration and winding up of probate administrations. In addition to our attorneys, we have experienced and qualified staff members available to provide personal assistance and support to our clients through this process.

We also understand that issues can develop after a death that require negotiation or court action, including prosecuting or defending will contests. Our attorneys are experienced in representing contestants, proponents, beneficiaries, heirs, and creditors in complex probate litigation.
